Join Share Somewhere
Share Somewhere is a game-changing tool for communities who need spaces. It is an online database of venues – think AirBnB for communities - whose aim is to liberate underused spaces and make it easy for people to find affordable spaces to do great things within their communities.
It's easy-to-use and open to all. As well as connecting those seeking spaces to appropriate venues, we want to allow community groups to advertise their empty spaces, manage bookings and take payments online.
Share Somewhere is managed by the leading digital support charity for young people, The Mix.
Become a Community Ambassador
We are looking for young people to help us research venue listings for the Share Somewhere platform in their town. We want to know all about spaces used by young people at a local level (green spaces; youth work venues; community spaces; and commercial spaces), to build a picture of the available community programmes taking place now.
We want you to engage with other young people locally to understanding their current relationship with spaces to help The Mix and Share Somewhere understand what young people need from community spaces today.
We want you to collect and share the stories of the brilliant things young people do in your local community to help The Mix build the profile of Share Somewhere online and build a case for more investment in community spaces.
You will work as part of a team of Community Ambassadors in towns and cities nationwide, who will be sharing insights and learnings throughout the process
The Purpose of the Role
- To engage with your local community, using Share Somewhere as a starting point.
- To collect data on local venues and ad-hoc activities for young people using local spaces that can be listed on the Share Somewhere database.
